Residential Velux Skylight Replacement Following Denver Hail Damage

Our team assisted a Denver homeowner through a complex storm restoration project involving their premium Velux solar-powered skylights. Following an initial hailstorm, our team swapped out two damaged skylight units on behalf of the homeowner's insurance carrier.

When a subsequent hailstorm impacted the property a few years later, the homeowner reached out to Quantum once again to handle the replacement of all five skylight units. While the immediate structural glass integrity held up, the cladding and flashing kits sustained cosmetic damage.

The initial insurance adjuster's assessment fell significantly below the true budget required to execute the skylight project correctly. The property featured obsolete double Roman concrete roof tiles surrounding the skylights, which required meticulous, manual removal and re-installation to ensure a completely leak-proof flashing seal.

Quantum Daylite Solutions provided supplemental project documentation to the insurance provider. By demonstrating the architectural steps required for concrete tile integration, we successfully assisted the homeowner in securing four times (4x) the initial claim valuation—fully covering the fair market cost to complete the project to manufacturer specifications.
